Membership at GPHC

Membership

To apply for membership,  complete and submit the nomination form found on this page. This form should be signed by a proposer and seconder, who must be Members of the Club.  If you do not know a member please contact the club. A $25 non-refundable nomination fee is due upon lodgement. Upon acceptance for membership, the nomination fee will be counted as part payment of the full entrance fee, with the balance of the entrance fee and annual subscription being payable on election to membership.

 

From time to time, upon lodgement of an application for membership, the applicant may be placed on a waiting list. Election to membership takes place at meetings of the General Committee. Successful applicants, upon being notified of their election, have one month to take up the offer, which is conditional upon payment of the balance of the entrance fee and the due subscription.

The Club’s financial year runs from August 1 to July 31. Subscriptions become due and payable, in advance, on the 31st of July each year.

Adult

  • Free use of  tennis court facilities (lighting fees apply)

  • Free use of  squash court facilities

  • Free use of fitness facilities

  • Free use of snooker

  • Use of the bar/meals and other social facilities, drinks at member prices

  • Member only specials and events

$500 Joining fee and $500/year for 2018/19 membership year

Junior  (U21) Member

  • Free use of  tennis court facilities (lighting fees apply)

  • Free use of  squash court facilities

  • Free use of fitness facilities (U16 when accompanied by and adult)

  • Free use of snooker facilities if 18 years or older

  • Use of the bar/meals and other social facilities (U18 when accompanied by and adult)

  • Member only specials and events

$60 Joining fee and $240/year  for the 2018/19 membership year

Family Member

  • Adult family members have all the benefits of Adult members

  • Adult Junior members have all the benefits of Adult members

A family membership must contain a minimum of 3 people comprising at least 1 adult and 1 junior under 21 years (and over 5 years of age) residing at the same address to qualify for the family discount on total membership fees. Members wishing to be considered for family membership should apply in writing to the Membership Secretary.

Social Member

GPHC welcomes social members to enjoy the bar/meals and other social facilities of the club.

Corporate Member

Corporate members have rights to use the Clubhouse and associated facilities, as per each individual membership agreement. For a Corporate membership please contact the club for further details.

Mid-week Member

Free use of tennis court facilities (limited to the hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm on Monday - Friday)

Please note that a mid-week member wishing to use the clubs facilities beyond the restricted hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm on Monday - Friday is required to pay a booking fee at the applicable non-member rate (of $30 per hour).

General Terms and Conditions

*Facility Fees are levied on members who seek to experience club facilities not included in their current membership category. Members are limited to a maximum of six (6) instances per membership year, where facility fees are applicable.

Note: Members entitlements are Subject to availability relative to competition, practice needs of teams and determinations by Committee and/or management.
The Membership card must be carried at all times and be produced (if required) to verify membership.

Payment of Subscriptions

The Club’s financial year runs from August 1 to July 31. Subscriptions become due and payable, in advance, on the 31st of July each year. Non-transferable membership cards are issued on the payment of annual subscriptions.
Subscriptions for newly elected members are calculated on a pro rata basis, depending on the month in which they are elected. Subscription rates and entrance fees (including GST) are found on the application form.

 

General Membership Rules

The following General membership rules apply for all members:

  • Members are asked as courtesy to notify the club of their intentions to membership renewal each year (should you wish to no longer remain a member).

  • Persons re-joining who did not make a prior agreement in writing will incur a full joining fee.

  • Please note there is a fixed cut-off date for non-payment of subscription fees each year – with members being considered unfinancial and all benefits ceasing 30 days after the due date (31 August each year).

  • Members who remain unfinancial 60 days after due date (ie. unfinancial as at 30 September each year) will be removed from the membership data base & required to pay a full joining fee to reinstate there membership.

  • Members & guests wishing to use the tennis court lights are required to pay $10 per hour to use the lights, with payment to be made prior to using the lights.

Change of Category

Transfers between categories of membership are not automatic, but are at the discretion of the General Committee and will attract a joining fee equal to the balance of the joining fee between the desired category and that already attained. Members should apply in writing if they wish to change their membership category. Junior members become Full Playing members upon attaining the age of 18 years (or 21 years if engaged in full-time study), but are not required to pay a further joining fee.

Members who for one reason or another expect to be overseas or interstate for a substantial period, may wish to apply for absentee membership. Members should apply in writing giving an estimate of the period of absence. A small holding fee may be levied to cover administrative costs.
